DORIS’ STORY
Doris was rescued in 2020 from a meat market truck by an amazing group of people based
in Beijing, led by a lovely lady called PiPi, who like other volunteers, every day
fights the atrocities that many dogs go through in China when sold for few dollars.
Doris passed away only a few months after entering my house but in these few months, she gave me so much joy, strength, and hope that words can not describe.
I am forever grateful to Doris as she helped me overcome a very challenging time in life, and with her love and companionship, I was able to bounce back, recover and move forward.
I miss Doris every day. Nothing will ever bring her back to me but I hope that by saving many dogs like her I can honour her short life and keep her name alive for many years to come.
This project is supported by friends of Doris, rescuers and volunteers who like me refuse to stay still and want to take action to give freedom to as many animals in this world who were unfortunate to meet the wrong humans but fortunate to meet us.
'DORIS WAS NOT MEAT' is a charitable organisation that uses money raised to rehabilitate rescue dogs from meat markets and pair them with humans in need of love and companionship, because just like Doris a small dog is able to make a big impact on anyone’s life.
