The PACK (People for Animal Care and Kindness) was established in August 2016 as a non-government, non-profit organization to rehabilitate and rehome the stray dogs of Taiwan. Our center in Shanzhi serves as both sanctuary and shelter, providing a professional home for up to 250 animals. Our mission includes 3 primary objectives:
We take care of dogs. The homeless. The sick. The wounded. The elderly. The unwanted. The "forgotten" dogs. We do this at the highest standards that we are capable of. In the process, we raise the bar not just for ourselves, but for other shelters and sanctuaries.
We rehome dogs. We are matchmakers who help dogs and humans find each other. Through PACK Academy, our propriety four-stage system, we prepare our dogs for life as pets through assessment, socialization and training.
We share our knowledge. We want to forge higher standards for animal welfare in Taiwan. We will do that by sharing our standard operating procedures for dog care and rehoming with our supporters, other shelters and anyone who is interested.
As a non-profit organization, PACK Taiwan relies 100% on private donations.
